Australian Test Vice Captain Brad Haddin will captain the Prime Ministers XI against Sri Lanka on Friday 3 February at Manuka Oval.

Haddin a former ACT Comets representative will make his fourth appearance for the Prime Ministers XI and will become the second former ACT player to Captain the Prime Ministers XI alongside Michael Bevan.

The Australian wicket keeper will have current Queensland Bull and Brisbane Heat Batsman Peter Forrest as his deputy for the match.

CEO of Cricket ACT Mark Vergano said “having local boy Brad Haddin as Captain provided a wonderful inspiration to young local cricketers that they can aspire to achieve at the highest levels of the game.”

Coming off the recent success of the Australian Team’s test matches again India, Haddin will be looking forward to continuing this strong form on his old stomping ground at Manuka Oval.

Haddin will be hoping to Captain the team to a strong victory and overcome the loss in 2008 against the Sri Lankan team, the last time the two teams met.
