Cricket ACT is excited to announce that the 2017 Canberra Park Kookaburra Cup will be held from Wednesday, 4th of October to Friday, 6th of October. The annual pre-season tournament is expected to attract over 500 local and interstate male and female junior cricketers aged between 11 - 16. The cost of entry for each team is $830 inc GST.

Beginning in 2005, the T20 tournament is considered a staple of the Canberra and wider region cricketing calendar. The event promotes participation and enjoyment for all and is open to players and teams of all abilities. Games will be at various venues all around the Canberra region as well as an opening and closing ceremony at Manuka Oval.

In past editions, the tournament has featured prominent names in the cricket community such as Australian internationals Adam Zampa and Nic Maddinson as well as Brisbane Heat and Canberra alumni all-rounder, Jason Floros.

“We are delighted to once again welcome all teams into our backyard to kick start their upcoming cricket season” said Cricket ACT CEO Cameron French. “Tournaments like this help demonstrate that Canberra is a perfect destination to hold sporting events with its wonderful facilities and family friendly tourist and cultural attractions. We are particularly proud to welcome a new naming rights partner in Canberra Park to this annual event” he added.

Canberra Park is the naming rights sponsor of the tournament in 2017, providing an innovative accommodation solution for groups looking to participate in the tournament. The venue is located next to Canberra Showgrounds and Exhibition Park, just 6kms from the centre of Canberra city and within easy travel distance to all sporting facilities and major places of interest including Capital Hill, Australian War Memorial, National Gallery, Questacon and the Australian Institute of Sport.

Designed to specifically meet the needs of groups and schools travelling to Canberra, the complex opened in April 2017. The purpose built complex, surrounded by grass playing fields, offers comfortable and secure group accommodation and dining facilities at an affordable price.

For tournament participants and families, the following rates are available:
