Commenting on the squad selection for the opening round, Blizzard said “We are excited to have former Test cricketer Trent Copeland captaining our Round one team,”

“We expect Trent will provide the team with great direction and lead from the front along with experienced players like Jono Dean and Shane Devoy,”

“We are excited by the progress of some of our younger players over the winter and look forward to them following in the footsteps of Tom Rogers and Mac Wright who have been signed by State Teams out of our program over the past two seasons.”

The side will play NSW Metro in a four day fixture commencing on Monday at Manuka Oval.
