Only 18 years old himself, Leerdam is helping prepare his side for a Konica Minolta T20 semi-final appearance against the reigning champs, Weston Creek Molonglo.

"We have a lot of young players and lots of energy and enthusiasm so if we capitalise on that we will be any chance," Leerdam said.

"We've got a new coach, Andrew Dawson, and we've been doing a lot of work on our mental game and our skill,"

"Hopefully this year will be a big year for us."

Weston Creek Molonglo's Robbie Trickett says he knows what his side needs to do to overcome ANU.

"ANU have got some really good players, such as Corey Spink, Ben Mitchell and Scott Murns, so we will need to control them and play our game to get the result," Trickett said.

"As long as we take our chances and focus on what works well for we should be able to contain them to a reasonable score."
