Kookaburra has signed on until the end of the 2019/20 season to be the cricket ball of choice for ACT cricketers.
Cameron French, CEO, was on hand yesterday at Manuka Oval to make the important announcement.
“We can’t achieve many of our strategic ambitions without great partners like Kookaburra. Cricket ACT couldn’t be happier to sign an long extension with a brand that is synonymous with cricket in this country” French said.
The Kookaburra brand and cricket go hand in hand, with the company manufacturing the most widely used brand of ball used in test cricket and limited over cricket.
“Kookaburra is pleased to extend its partnership with Cricket ACT for another 3 years, continuing a long relationship that sees ACT cricketers using the ball of choice for all Australian cricketers.” Kookaburra Head of Communications Shannon Gill said.
“Cricket ACT is an important part of the Australian cricket landscape, developing first-class talent at a rate that belies its population, so being involved with the grassroots and premier grades across the region is vital for Kookaburra”.
"We see the fruits of that development with ex Comet Nathan Lyon’s career in the baggy green going from strength to strength and current Abode Hotel ACT Meteor, Maitlan Brown, seen as one of the rising stars of the WBBL, both are Kookaburra ambassadors that we’re proud to support”.
“The Kookaburra factory is currently churning out all the balls for the McDonald’s ACT Premier League and Konica Minolta T20 competition, that not only keeps cricket supplied in the region week-in week-out, but also creates exposure for the competition’s major sponsors” Gill concluded.
