Cricket ACT have announced the squad of the Abode Hotels ACT Meteors for the upcoming WNCL season. With a new MoU agreed, female cricketers now have the potential to earn circa $60,000 if they are signed with a WNCL and WBBL team in domestic Australian Cricket.

"It's been a long preseason but the girls have stuck strong throughout and we've kept training, it's been business as usual," Abode Hotels ACT Meteors Nicola Hancock said.

Speaking at the announcement Aiden Blizzard GM High Performance said ""We're really competing hard on the war for talent for male and female athletes and the progression that cricket is making at the moment is really positive and going to hold the game in good stead."

"We are thrilled with the new signings we have made, with an announcement on two further signings in the coming weeks. The squad has further strengthened and the team can't wait to start playing" Blizzard concluded.

New additions:

  • Hayley Jensen – Former NZ international, signed from Victoria Spirit
  • Erin Burns – Tasmania Roar, dangerous all-rounder
  • Clara Iemma – Emerging batter/off-spinner from Sydney

The key new signings will be joined by the strong core that fell agonizingly close to making the WNCL finals last season;

  • Ange Reakes
  • Claire Koski
  • Emily Leys
  • Erin Osborne
  • Katie Mack
  • Maitlan Brown
  • Nicola Hancock
