Day 1 saw a difficult day for the tournament as the teams battled wet weather. Despite this setback, there were still some excellent performances and memorable moments.

Roan Fahy of the Concord Briars U16 Gold team made an astonishing 86* facing only 53 balls including 6 fours and 7 sixes. Concord Briars U16 Maroon saw a strong partnership between Jackson Kent and Reyhan Tuman, both scoring 53* and 51* respectively in their team’s total of 3/168. MYC put together a wonderful team effort, scoring a total of 2/207 in their 20 overs.

Aviraj Pal of the Sydney Smashers U12 side was pick of the bowlers around Canberra today, picking up figures of 4/2 off of only two overs, which also included a maiden. The next best figures came from Pranav Mandavilli of the Sydney Smashers U16 team, bowling with figures of 4/6 off of his four overs. The best team bowling effort came from Sydney Smashers U12, keeping their opposition to just 18 runs for their innings.

Unfortunately, it seems the wet weather will continue for tomorrow, with skies clearing on Friday for the final day of the competition.
