In October 2018, Les Kiraly for the Tuggeranong Valley JCC received the Beyond Bank Volunteer of the Month award for his support of the growth of girls cricket at the club. Les was instrumental in recruitment, coaching and organising the girls teams at the club.
Gary Rees (ACT Cricket Umpires & Scorers Council) was another worthy recipient of the Beyond Bank Volunteer of the Month award in November 2018 through his role of Secretary of the Council. He was instrumental in the day-to-day running of the council, supporting the activities of the council and actually officiating every weekend (generally Saturday & Sunday) to support the activities of Cricket ACT competitions.
Geoff Besgrove (Cricket ACT) was awarded the Beyond Bank Volunteer of the Month award for December 2018/January 2019 for his contribution to supporting a large number of matches hosted by Cricket ACT. Geoff was heavily involved in supporting Toyota Futures League matches, Women’s National Cricket League matches, Prime Minister’s X1, Big Bash League and the Inaugural Test Match in Canberra.
In February 2019, Lauren McGann from the Western Districts Cricket Club was awarded the Beyond Bank Volunteer of the Month. Lauren was integral to the club conducting a 50 year anniversary function which attached over 170 past and present club members to celebrate the club activities.
March 2019 saw Andrew Pratt from Eastlake JCC recognised as the Beyond Bank Volunteer of the Month for his commitment to the club via his many roles which include – equipment officer, girls training coach, team coach for the boys program and compiling the clubs annual report each season.
In April 2019, Alex Lascu was awarded the Beyond Bank Volunteer of the Month for her leadership in coaching the U/14 Girls ACT Indoor team. Alex provided a supportive and positive environment for the girls to improve their play and enjoy the experience of playing for the Territory.
Aidan Gunning received the Beyond Bank Volunteer for the Month of May 2019, for his contribution to the ACT Indoor Cricket – National Indoor Cricket League and Super League competitions.
Sue Rebus was awarded the Beyond Bank Volunteer of the Month for June/July 2019. Sue was the Team Manager for the U/14 Girls Indoor ACT team and provided an environment which was supportive for the girls to play at their best in the National Championships.
In August 2019, Jenny Levings was awarded the Beyond Bank Volunteer of the Year award. Jenny was instrumental in coordinating the ACT Indoor Junior Girls representative teams and actively managing multiple teams within various local competitions.
Cricket ACT and our volunteers are extremely lucky to have a local partner in Beyond Bank who is so committed to the ACT Cricket Community.
