Playing Monday 17th September - Wednesday 19th September, the ACT Comets are playing against the NSW Metro in the Toyota Futures League in Blacktown. This match will be beneficial for the upcoming season with new emerging player Daniel Leerdam playing his first game for the Comets. Daniel is a current ANU student and former Radford College with compliments for his work ethic over the pre-season being passed down from the coaching staff.

Comets Head Coach Kyle Piper praised Daniel for his efforts since joining the squad,

"Daniel has also been captain for the ANU Cricket Team and his selection is also a credit to the way that the club has turned their fortunes around in the last 18-24 months," said Kyle Piper.

"A great reflection on the club and its progress. This is a big deal locally as it shows you can still play your cricket in Canberra and force your way into the ACT/NSW Country Comets side."

Other team updates within the Comets include Hayden Kerr playing his first match (University of Sydney and originally from Bowral) and Greg West (former Adelaide Striker in the BBL) returns after an injured plagued 12 months.

This match is an opportunity for our players to push for selections in the Sheffield Shield side for the NSW Blues this year.
