One of Cricket ACT's most important values is giving back to and inspiring our community.

The Abode Hotel ACT Meteors and ACT Comets have planned a day of school visits and community events which will take place on Wednesday, August 28th.

The 3 events below are open to the public and we encourage everyone in the community to come out and get involved!

6am - The Man Walk - Walk Talk Support @ The Carillon

Lead by Comets Head Coach Kyle Piper, the ACT Comets and other Canberran men will join each other in walking from bridge to bridge.

10.15am from 10.30am start - Storytelling and craft time @ Belconnen Library

ACT Meteors Anna Lanning and Erica Kershaw will be reading and doing crafts with 3 to 5 year olds.

3pm to 5.30pm - Menslink Carwash @ Spoering Street, Phillip

Come get your car washed and help us raise money for Menslink. The money will go towards young men participating in the Spartan Race later in the year.

On top of the public events, our cricketers will be visiting a number of schools including Daramalan Secondary College, Burgmann Anglican School, Giralang Primary School and Lyneham High School. Here they will be chatting with the students, doing Q&As and conducting a practical cricket session. Both the Meteors and Comets will be attending a School Cup which will see over 200 kids in playing cricket; the ACT athletes will even be umpiring the final!

In between school visits and other community events, the players will stop into Goodwin Aged Care for a game of bingo and ACT Boccia to play against the local team.

The last event of the day will be a cricket and boxing session at PCYC with Sports and Recreation Minister, Yvette Berry, in attendance.
