After dominate displays in their respective semi-finals and round games, the Eastern Fever met the Northern Frenzy in the 2021/22 U19s grand final.
Electing to bat first, Eastern Fever set a solid foundation with an opening stand of 51 runs between Rory Di-Campli & Sam Frost.
However, Frenzy pace bowler Brayden Jones took both their scalps in quick succession to release the pressure on the Frenzy.
Excellent batting displays by Mikey McNamara (52 off 32) and Lachie Reid (34 off 32) helped set an impressive target of 170.
In reply, Northern Frenzy lost early wickets including the big scalp of Jake Scott for 1. An outstanding middle order resistance led by Lachlan Bugden (56 off 40) kept the target within reach.
Needing 22 off the last two was a bridge too far and the Eastern Fever won by 12 runs.
Cricket ACT would like to thank all the players and coaching staff for their commitment to the CDC U19s Competition in season 2021/22.
