The John Gallop Cup One-Day Grand Final on Sunday was marred by a head injury to ANU captain Dan Leerdam at Stirling Oval.
On a blistering day in Canberra, Leerdam won the toss and elected to bat first.
Batting at No. 3, Leerdam was hit in the head by a Harry Medhurst ball early in the ANU innings, but continued on to score 98 runs to lead his side to an innings total of 225.
Midway through the Weston Creek innings, Leerdam began to feel dizzy and was taken to hospital to be treated.
A good knock from Mark Bennett (70) and Harry Medhurst (52) gave Weston Creek the victory with five balls to spare.
This is Weston Creek's first win in four appearances in the John Gallop Cup Grand Final.
