Tuggeranong’s Shane Devoy fronted the local media on Friday at Phillip Oval ahead of the Konica Minolta Premier T20 Cup finals this Sunday.
The four clubs taking part, Tuggeranong, Ginninderra, Western District – UC and ANU, all have more to play for than ever before with a spot in the new National Premier T20 competition up for grabs for the overall winner.
It’s just another great opportunity,” said Devoy
“I think Tuggeranong is known for producing good local talent with guys like Ashton May, Tom Thornton and obviously Jason Floros being back.
“Also having someone like Jason Behrendorff playing for the one-day side a couple of days ago was huge for us as a club so it’s just another opportunity for us to put our best foot forward and show that we’re one of the best clubs in town.”
Thanks to the support of Kennards Hire, there is also an opportunity for one of the clubs to take home $500 prize money if one of their batters can hit any of the five branded signs on the full.
“All Floros’ will be queueing up to have a crack at that.” said Devoy
“There promises to be a good celebration if they can pull it off.”
Entry to Phillip Oval is free with a licensed canteen and bbq available on the day.
