This year's edition will be held from Wednesday 7th October to Friday 9th of October 2020.
The annual pre-season tournament last year saw 76 teams from local and interstate, with male and female junior cricketers aged between 10 – 16 participating.
Played in the lead up to the start of the junior cricket season, the Canberra Southern Cross Club Kookaburra Cup is a staple in the junior cricket calendar in the ACT and NSW.
From its birth in 2005, the Twenty20 tournament promotes participation and enjoyment for all and is open to players and teams of all abilities. Games will be at various venues all around the Canberra region.
Teams have eight players per side, competing in Cup, Plate or Shield divisions for Under 12, Under 14 and Under 16 boys. Girls compete in Under 13s and Under 17s divisions over the three days.
This tournament has featured prominent names in the cricket community including Australian representatives Adam Zampa and Nic Maddinson.
Once again there will be a shirt design competition, allowing participants the opportunity to flex their creative muscles. The winning design will become the official tournament shirt for the 2020 instalment of the competition, and the winner's team will receive free entry into the tournament.
