Cricket ACT would like to congratulate Sydney Thunder General Manager Lee Germon on his recent appointment to Chief Executive of Cricket NSW.

Cricket NSW announced on Friday that Germon will replace Andrew Jones, who confirmed last year that he would be stepping down from the role following the 2018/19 season.

Cricket ACT CEO James Allsopp is looking forward to seeing the relationship between the two organisations continue to thrive under Germon's leadership.

"I am looking forward to working with Lee to further strengthen the Cricket ACT and Cricket NSW partnership in the best interest of Australian cricket," said James Allsopp

"We have already worked closely with Lee to continue to bring Thunder matches to Manuka Oval and are greatly appreciative of the extensive community work they do in our region.

"I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank Andrew for his support and wish him all the best for the future."

Germon captained New Zealand in all of his 12 Tests and all but one of his 37 one-day internationals during the mid 1990s.

After finishing his playing career, Germon spent three years as CEO of the Tasman Rugby Union and in 2008 became CEO of Canterbury Cricket. He made the move to Australia to join the Sydney Thunder before the 2017/18 season.
