An impressive display with the bat from Tasmania’s Corinne Hall and Emma Thompson has seen the Tigers victorious against the Abode Hotels ACT Meteors today at Allan Border Field.

ACT won the toss and elected to bat in warm conditions in Brisbane. Claire Koski and Katie Mack opened the batting, but Brooke Hepburn got an early wicket in just the second over to dismiss Koski for 9.

Mack and Erin Osborne went on to combine for a handy 71-run partnership before Emma Thompson got the breakthrough wicket of Osborne (31).

The middle order failed to find their groove with ACT finding themselves at 5 wickets down in the middle of the innings.

Katie Mack went on to hit 57, including 8 fours, but was dismissed in the 28th over by Courtney Webb.

Batting at no. 7, Clara Iemma put on 35 runs from her 46 balls faced and Kershaw 15 from 27 before ACT were bowled out for 218 in the 46th over.

Stefanie Daffara and Georgia Redmayne opened the batting for Tasmania chasing down 219 for victory.

Maitlan Brown picked up her first wicket of the summer dismissing Redmayne in the 3rd over, while Jensen dismissed Daffara soon after seeing Tasmania 2-18 in the 4th over.

A handy run out from Zoe Cooke to dismiss Amy Satterthwaite saw ACT in a strong-position early but a 139-run partnership between Hall and Thompson swung the ball in the Tigers favour.

Burns got the critical wicket of Thompson in the 37th over and Brown bowled Hall (86) shortly after but it was too late for the Meteors.

Tasmania chased down the total in 46 overs to win by five wickets.

Next match for the Abode Hotels ACT Meteors is this Sunday against the Queensland Fire.
