CA 'Coach Approach' Roadshow

Cricket Australia Coaching Roadshow
coming to Canberra 29 & 30 June
Cricket ACT Indoor Centre, Phillip

As part of Cricket Australia's (CA) strategic projects for the 2024/25 season, Cricket ACT is gearing up for the rollout of 'Coach Approach' Australia-wide, which includes the new Coach Development Framework and Skill Development Framework (see CA Coach Development Playbook for more information).

CA will run a series of workshops across each state and territory to embed this new philosophy within each cricket community.

We are thrilled to announce that on 29 and 30 June, Cricket ACT will host this significant and free event on behalf of our cricket community in the ACT. This event will be delivered by CA resources and will be an exciting and important milestone in Australian cricket history.

Our coaches will be equipped with the knowledge and support to –

lead an environment that empowers players to investigate and explore problem solving, focusing on outcomes rather than technique, allowing players to establish their own methods to score runs and take wickets.

Cricket ACT invites all community cricket club coaches to attend this workshop.

In addition, CA and the Australian Sports Commission have identified the crucial role of Coach Developer. Cricket ACT encourages all local clubs to identify one of their senior coaches as a coach developer, who could provide mentoring and guidance to all junior coaches.

The 'Coach Approach' Roadshow will provide the required training and guidance to those identified coach developers to better support their coaches regularly in the upcoming season.

This important event will be held at the Cricket ACT High Performance Centre in Phillip, with a series of workshops conducted by CA over the two days (see outline below).

If you have any queries, please feel free to reach out to our Coaching Development Manager, Janith Samaratunga.
