Introduction to Coaching Online Course

The ‘Introduction to Coaching Online Course’ helps parents, volunteers and coaches create fun, safe and inclusive environments for all participants.

The course doesn’t require any prior knowledge of the game and introduces learners to the fundamentals of cricket and what it takes to facilitate cricket sessions. It’s important for all coaches to complete this learning, so Australian cricket is aligned in giving all kids a great experience.

The Introduction to Coaching Online Course is entirely self-paced, meaning it can be done as fast or as slow as the learner wants, and is delivered entirely online.

Pre-requisites: Nil

Cost: All modules are freely available to all coaches and volunteers.

The below modules form a part and are also the pre-requisites for those going on to complete the ‘Community Coach Accreditation’ in the future. Following the completion of the introduction course, coaches can sign up to a one-day face-to-face practical day to upgrade their accreditation to Community Coach status.

The seven modules are:

  • Creating a Safe and Inclusive Environment

  • Philosophy and Pathway

  • Creating a Quality Experience

  • Junior Cricket

  • Scoring Runs and Taking Wickets

  • Preparing to Perform

  • Match Management.

If you haven’t already registered via the new Cricket Australia Coaching web page, you will need to do so before gaining access to the course.

Upon completion you will receive an email with instructions on how to download your certificate.
