Do you or your local cricket club have some good quality pre-loved cricket gear that you're looking to rehome?
Perhaps you've outgrown your current gear and/or are purchasing new equipment this season.
Our small request is that you take a moment to consider donating your pre-loved equipment to a very good cause.
Cricket ACT has launched a donation drive for cricket bats and soft balls that could be used for backyard cricket play. All items donated will be given to Roundabout Canberra who will distribute among families in need. Cricket ACT has formed a new partnership with Roundabout Canberra and we hope to assist in the coming months with donations and volunteering our time to support this fantastic charity.
We want to help share the joy our sport brings with children who may not otherwise have an opportunity to pick up a bat or a ball. Roundabout Canberra provides safe, high quality essential baby and children's items to families in need through its network of community and not-for-profit organisations. In doing this, it allows those services to focus on their core business and Roundabout ensures essential items are available, in great condition, for their clients.
Roundabout Canberra Founder and CEO, Hannah Andrevski, believes every child deserves a safe start and every family deserves dignity. Hannah recently visited us at Cricket ACT to tell us a little about the work of her organisation. We were able to make a small donation on the day of some baby clothing, but we are also eager to do more.
In addition to our donation drive players and staff will also be volunteering time to assist Hannah and the Roundabout team with sorting and collating donations for families in need. We're delighted to be working with Hannah and her army of volunteers to help give back to the wonderful community that supports us each and every year.
If you or your club have any bats or soft balls, that would be good for primary and early high school children to use in a backyard environment please get in touch with us or drop your items off to us at our office in Phillip. We will gather all donations and deliver them to Hannah and the team at Roundabout Canberra.
