Cricket ACT is thrilled to see Manuka Oval’s ongoing importance as a major international cricket venue recognised, with Cricket Australia’s release of the International schedule of matches for the upcoming 2023/2024 cricket season.
Another big summer in Canberra begins with the World Champion Australian Women’s team playing the first two Twenty20 matches of their CommBank Women’s multi-format series against World Cup finalists South Africa, over a festival weekend of cricket on Saturday, 27 and Sunday, 28 January.
The Australian Men’s team will then face two-time T20 World Cup champions, the West Indies, in the third and final day/night match of the Dettol One-Day International series on Tuesday, 6 February.
“We’re so happy to be able to share Manuka Oval with the cricketing world again this coming season,” Cricket ACT CEO Olivia Thornton said.
“Canberra is home to one of the truly great boutique cricket grounds in the world, and we’re absolutely thrilled to have the South African Women backing up their World Cup Final appearance, as well as the return of the West Indies Men’s side for a second consecutive summer.
“To have the Australian Women’s and Men’s sides in Canberra within a week of each other, means that cricket fans of the ACT and the surrounding regions really are in for a treat.”
The Prime Minister’s XI match remains a important event for the region, and its’ inclusion in the schedule will be confirmed by Cricket Australia in due course.
Fans can secure early bird ticket prices by joining the Australian Cricket Family pre-sale that commences on Wednesday, 17 May. Cricket Australia is offering ACF members a 15% discount for tickets purchased in the presale on select seating categories. This offer will only apply in the pre-sale, before tickets go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, 6 June.
