New ACT Meteors Head Coach Erin Osborne has named the first squad of the 2023/2024 Women’s National Cricket League campaign, with 13 players picked to travel to Adelaide this week to take on South Australia this Friday and Sunday at Karen Rolton Oval.
Katie Mack again captains the side this summer, while new recruit Paris Bowdler and local ACT pathways product Grace Lyons are both in line for a WNCL debut in this weekend’s matches.
The Meteors and Scorpions have already met once during the pre-season, with the ACT side enjoying a win in late August during a series of warm-up games on the Sunshine Coast.
2023/2024 marks the next step in the evolution of the Meteors, and with the playing squad largely intact from last season, along with the addition of some exciting young talent, the squad under new Head Coach Erin Osborne are ready to put all their pre-season hard work into action on the field.
“It’s been a really productive and enjoyable pre-season, and the team are excited now to get the season underway,” Osborne said, in naming the squad.
“It’s been truly pleasing to see all our hard work leading into the first round of games, and we just can’t wait to start the WNCL season strongly.”
