A special shirt presentation was held last Tuesday evening at Fenwick Public House in Woden as our ACT Meteors joined together with valued partners, family, friends and Cricket ACT for the Meteors season launch.
This was a great opportunity to present players with their playing shirts and wish the team all the best for the 2023/24 WNCL season.
Our home playing shirts hold significant meaning as they feature our First Nations Artwork, beautifully crafted by Wiradjuri artist, Kalara Gilbert. This artwork includes elements representing 11 players on the field, the many and varied travel lines of our players, the Gang-Gang cockatoo now synonymous with Cricket ACT, Lake Burley Griffin, the Brindabella Ranges, and even representations of the players’ families watching on from afar.
Special thanks to our commercial partners Intravision, Kane Constructions and Abode Hotels who have returned this year to support the Meteors for another big season.
We also extend thanks to the Canberra Data Centres, the ACT Government and the Australian Sports Foundation for their ongoing support of our programs.
Our gratitude to Caitlyn Chalmers from WIN News Canberra who was our MC on the night along with Brentyn, Michael and the team from Fenway Public House for their hospitality.
We look forward to another wonderful season with our ACT Meteors team and community.
