Intravision ACT Meteors sign local talent for 2025/26 season

Local ACT talents Rachel Carroll and Stella Wilde have signed multi-year contracts with the Intravision ACT Meteors following strong performances at both local and representative level.

Rachel and Stella are products of Cricket ACT’s Pathway programs and have developed their skills through our local cricket system. Their progression to the Meteors squad highlights the importance and success of investing in homegrown talent.

Batter Rachel Carroll has signed a three-year contract, following her debut for the Meteors last season against Queensland. From just 11 years of age, Rachel was already playing senior women’s cricket for North Canberra Gungahlin Cricket Club and then went on to represent Western District for several years, further honing her skills. Currently playing with Ginninderra Cricket Club in the local ACT competition, Rachel impressed selectors at the Cricket Australia Under 19 National Championships earlier in the year, scoring an unbeaten 103 against Papua New Guinea, further demonstrating her potential at the national level.

Stella Wilde, an all-rounder, has signed a two-year rookie contract with the Meteors, securing her position as a key part of the team’s future. Stella was named in the Team of the Tournament at the recent Cricket Australia Under 19 National Championships, a recognition of her outstanding performances and consistency throughout the competition.

Stella began her cricket journey as a junior with Weston Creek Molonglo Cricket Club before transitioning to Queanbeyan District in 2021. Her move was instrumental in helping to re-establish Queanbeyan’s women’s program, showcasing her leadership and commitment to growing the game locally.

Cricket ACT Head of Cricket, Stuart Karpinnen, said the signings are a testament to the strength of our local clubs and development programs.

“We’re incredibly proud to see Rachel and Stella progress through our pathway and into the Meteors squad. It’s a great example of our commitment to developing local talent and providing clear opportunities for players within the ACT.”

The Meteors look forward to seeing both players continue to grow and contribute to the team’s success in the seasons ahead.

The full Intravision ACT Meteors squad will be announced in the coming weeks.
