The ACT Meteors are thrilled to announce the signing of experienced English all-rounder Georgia Elwiss for the upcoming 2025/26 Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL) season.
Elwiss, who boasts an impressive international career with 34 One Day Internationals, 4 Test matches, and 14 T20 Internationals for England, will rejoin the Meteors in October, marking a return to the Capital after having previously represented the ACT during the 2010/11 season.
Currently playing for The Blaze in the Charlotte Edwards Cup, Elwiss brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the Meteors squad.
Over a decorated career that has included stints with the England National Team, Southern Vipers, Lancashire Lightning, and the Melbourne Stars in the Women’s Big Bash League, Elwiss has amassed more than 5,500 white-ball runs.
ACT Meteors Head Coach Erin Osborne welcomed the signing.
"Georgia is a proven performer on the international stage and her return is a huge boost for our squad. Her experience, both on and off the field, will be invaluable as we continue to build a competitive and cohesive team for the season ahead." Osborne said.
Elwiss said she was excited about her return to Canberra.
“I’m really looking forward to joining the Meteors again and hope to be able to make contributions both on and off the field. Cricket ACT helped to shape me as a person and cricketer at the very beginning of my career and I’m excited for the opportunity to give back and also to see how much the WNCL has grown since then.” Elwiss said.
“I’ve followed the girls from afar over the years and hope there’s plenty of success to come this season.”

Due to existing playing commitments, Elwiss will link up with the Meteors from December and will be unavailable for the opening rounds of the WNCL season.
The ACT Meteors will begin their 2025/26 WNCL campaign in October, with fixtures to be announced in the coming months.
