Cricket ACT celebrated the achievements of the Premier Cricket community at the ACT Premier Cricket Awards Night, held on Thursday 16 April, with the Major Individual Awards recognising outstanding performances across the 2025/26 season. Four prestigious medals headlined the evening, acknowledging consistency, impact and excellence across both the men’s and women’s competitions.
DB Robin Medal – Nick Wood
The DB Robin Medal, awarded to the most outstanding player in the men’s First Grade Premier Cricket competition, was claimed by Nick Wood following a season of consistent excellence. Wood’s ability to perform week in, week out across all facets of the game set him apart from a strong field, with his contributions proving pivotal throughout the Premier Cricket season. Wood’s outstanding 2025/26 campaign was underlined by remarkable all-round numbers, scoring 496 runs at an average of 41.33 while also claiming 39 wickets at 16.95, confirming him as a deserving recipient of the DB Robin Medal.
SJ Moore Medal – Kate Lussick
The SJ Moore Medal was awarded to Kate Lussick following another outstanding campaign in the women’s grade. Lussick once again demonstrated her class and leadership for Western Creek Molonglo Cricket Club at the highest level of Premier Cricket, further cementing her reputation as one of the competition’s most influential young players. Capping off a super season, Lussick captained the women’s grade side to the one-day premiership, highlighting her impact both as a leader and performer throughout the year.
Peter Solway Medal – Scott Murn
Recognition of performance and impact within the Comets program came with Scott Murn being awarded the Peter Solway Medal. Murn’s efforts throughout the season were a key driver of the Comets squad, with his performances consistently standing out across the Toyota Second XI competition 215 runs at 30.71. He also captained the Comets for another year, providing strong leadership and setting the standard both on and off the field.
Calver Medal – Annie Wikman
The Calver Medal was presented to Annie Wikman in recognition of her standout contributions and exceptional batting form throughout the Meteors’ season. Wikman’s consistency, impact, and ability to influence matches across the campaign made her a deserving recipient of one of ACT Cricket’s most respected individual honours. Wikman’s season started in emphatic fashion in Canberra, where her maiden WNCL century set up the ACT Meteors second win over Victoria in three days.
The young batter produced a commanding knock, powering her way to 142 runs from 136 deliveries to underline her growing influence at the top level. Wikman has also capped off a rapid rise over the past three season with selection in the prestigious Governor-General’s XI, marking another major milestone in her career.
