Cricket ACT is pleased to announce the appointment of highly respected domestic cricket figure, Clive Rose as Head Coach of the ACT Meteors.
Rose joins Cricket ACT with extensive experience across Australia’s elite domestic cricket system, bringing a strong background in leadership, high-performance programs and player development.
Rose played more than 100 domestic matches across varying formats for Tasmania and Victoria, as well as the Hobart Hurricanes and Melbourne Stars in the T20 Big Bash League.
Widely regarded as a dependable all-rounder and respected leader, he transitions into the role following several years working within professional coaching and performance environments.
Cricket ACT Head of Cricket Stuart Karppinen said Rose emerged as the standout candidate through a highly competitive recruitment process.
“Clive brings outstanding experience from elite domestic programs and has a proven ability to build strong, connected team environments,” Karppinen said.
“He has a clear understanding of the standards required to succeed at the highest level, but just as importantly, he genuinely cares about developing people alongside performance.
“That balance strongly aligns with what we’re building at Cricket ACT as we continue to strengthen our women’s program and create sustainable pathways for players to thrive.”
Rose said he was excited by the opportunity to lead the Meteors and contribute to the continued growth of women’s cricket in the ACT.

“I’m passionate about building environments where players and staff feel supported, challenged and connected, while creating clear opportunities for growth and development." Through my time at Cricket Tasmania, I’ve seen the impact strong cultures and high-performance standards can have on individuals and teams. I believe there’s a strong foundation already in place within the Meteors program, and I’m excited to help build on that.”
Rose will commence his Head Coach role in mid-June, leading preparations for the upcoming Women’s National Cricket League season.
