Want to become an Umpire?

Umpiring and scoring are important roles in cricket and a great way for non-playing members of the cricket community to be involved in the game. Cricket ACT, in partnership with ACT Cricket Umpires and Scorers Council (ACTCUSC) is responsible for the delivery of umpiring and scoring throughout the ACT.

Initial online learning and relevant information on how to become an umpire is available on the Cricket Australia – PlayCricket website.

It’s our job to ensure that our umpiring development system is second-to-none, and we provide opportunities not just to achieve accreditation, but also to develop as a coach.

Umpiring is for anybody, and you’ll join over 5,000 active umpires who are right in the thick of the action in the best seat in the house.

You can complete an online course to begin your umpiring journey, and progress right through from umpiring in various Cricket ACT competitions to umpiring on the national stage.
